Recently, Guangdong Industry Polytechnic University was established in Haizhu district, Guangzhou.

Guangdong Industry Polytechnic University has become the only public undergraduate-level vocational college in Guangdong province.

In June of this year, the Haizhu bureau of education approved the establishment of Guangdong Industry Polytechnic University based on Guangdong Industry Polytechnic College, elevating its academic level from college to undergraduate.

Guangdong Industry Polytechnic University is one of China's earliest prestigious vocational education institutions, with a history of 91 years in vocational education.

The university is selected for the national "Double High" plan, with two national high-level professional groups, four national-level demonstration majors, and 16 national exemplary (backbone) majors. The university is located in Haizhu district and has campuses in Xingang and Pazhou.

The establishment of the university signifies the addition of a public undergraduate vocational college in Guangdong, following Shenzhen Polytechnic University.

This year, the university admitted its first students to modern fine chemical technology, synthetic biotechnology, software engineering technology, mechanical electronic engineering technology, modern logistics management, and product design majors.

The minimum admission score exceeded the undergraduate admission line by more than 70 points, with 93 students admitted in the physics category. A total of 210 undergraduate freshmen registered on Sept 7.
