Recently, Haizhu district in Guangzhou has become a popular choice for foreign businesses, with Pazhou emerging as a new hotspot for foreign investment.

The 2024 UK-Guangzhou Business and Trade Cooperation Roundtable Dialogue was held on the Pearl River Hundred Years Cruise, attracting representatives from the British Embassy in China, the British Consulate General in Guangzhou, and other institutions and businesses.

The historical trade routes between places can be traced back to the ancient Maritime Silk Road era, with Whampoa Anchorage being one of the starting points of the Maritime Silk Road, which played a foundation role in establishing and nurturing the trade relationship between the two countries.

Haizhu continues to optimize policy services, business environment, and infrastructure, providing an excellent development environment for foreign businesses and attracting numerous foreign enterprises such as WPP GroupM, VFS Global, and Wanlihui to settle in.

Haizhu is spearheading the development of large-scale artificial intelligence models and planning to facilitate their widespread application across various industries, positioning itself as a leading demonstration area at a national level.

In the first half of 2024, the economic development of Haizhu maintained steady growth, with a regional GDP of 132.78 billion yuan ($18.74 billion), a year-on-year increase of 6.5 percent, ranking first in the city in terms of growth rate. The digital economy is rapidly rising, and foreign trade continues to improve.

The industrial space within the district is continuously optimized, creating five new industrial space zones to provide a more attractive investment environment for businesses.
