A new pedestrian bridge will soon be added to the area near the Canton Tower in Haizhu district of Guangzhou.
The bridge will span the estuary of the Huangpu River, with the Pearl River to the north and Yuexiu Road to the south. With a total length of 280 meters, it aims to enhance the environment of the south riverside section from Guangzhou Bridge to Liede Bridge, while also connecting a missing link along the riverside greenway, and further improving the surrounding environment and tourist facilities near the Canton Tower.
Its design concept harmonizes with the surrounding elements, aligns with the Lingnan characteristics, and showcases a simple yet elegant curved design. It will become one of the most beautiful features of the urban landscape, connecting the east and west banks, increasing pedestrian traffic, and promoting the development of the Canton Tower's surroundings.
This bridge will serve as the urban balcony of Guangzhou's CBD core area, offering observation platforms and leisure areas to provide a comfortable ecological walking experience for residents and tourists. The completion of the pedestrian bridge will enrich Guangzhou's urban landscape and become a part of the Pearl River New City.
