On March 8, Haizhu district held the unveiling ceremony of the exhibition of the renovated Shuangqing Building.
The Shuangqing Building is an immovable cultural relic located on Longxi New Street, Haizhu district, Guangzhou. It is where the democratic revolutionaries Liao Zhongkai and his wife He Xiangning lived after their marriage in 1897.
In recent years, the Haizhu district has carried out maintenance and repairs to the building. The exhibition project unveiled this time showcases the revolutionary deeds of Liao and He, as well as the stories of their life in the Shuangqing Building and the virtues of their family, through text, pictures, and historical documents.
The project has introduced interactive, experiential equipment such as projection and interactive historical material browsing, providing visitors with a multi-dimensional and immersive perceptual experience. The Shuangqing Building has transformed into a new patriotic education site and an immersive cultural space.
During the trial operation period, various activities such as photo exhibitions, calligraphy and painting public welfare classes were held, creating a vibrant atmosphere around the cultural relic.
The building will become a red cultural education base integrating functions such as exhibition education, cultural relic collection, academic research, and cultural exchange.
