Haizhu district is forging ahead with the pursuit of high-level technological self-reliance, envisioning a city characterized by digital leadership, integrated urban-industrial development, commitment to green livability, and a dynamic fusion of cultural, commercial, and tourism development.

The district aims to create a large-scale innovative application demonstration zone, launch a 100-billion-yuan ($139-million) industrial fund, and nurture more than 10 leading enterprises specializing in large-scale applications. In preparation for the third Pazhou Algorithm Competition and Digital Economy Investment Summit, it is actively promoting the "Pazhou Algorithm Valley" brand.

Haizhu is poised to focus on leading enterprises, establishing distinctive industry alliances, and building a new industrial ecosystem characterized by chain integration, clustering, and integrated development.

It also plans to expedite the construction of a 100-million-square-meter smart manufacturing base in Xiaozhou and Luntou, driving the landing of 15 research and development projects.

The district achieved an annual revenue of over 6 billion yuan in the exhibition industry, driving the revenue of accommodation, catering, and other industries to exceed 20 billion yuan.

In 2023, the regional GDP of Haizhu soared to 272.02 billion yuan, reflecting an impressive annual growth rate of 8.6 percent. The proportion of the added value from the district's core industries within the digital economy accounted for 19.2 percent of the total GDP.
