Sakura Cultural Festival to be held in Haizhu during Spring Festival

During the 2024 Spring Festival, the second Sakura Cultural Festival will be held in Haizhu district. The expected blooming period is from Feb 3 to early March.

The occasion showcases a diverse array of recreational activities. In the daytime, attendees have the opportunity to delight in the flourishing blooms, while as night falls, they can partake in the visual splendor of illuminated lanterns and witness captivating performances.

The Sakura Cultural Festival will showcase various distinctive varieties of cherry blossoms, including prunus serrulata, single-petal sakura, red beauty, and landscapes such as butterflies and rapeseed flower fields.

Prunus serrulata, commonly known as "red sakura," has dense red flowers and approximately 30 petals, producing many blooms.

The One-leaf sakura blooms as pinkish-white, with a large number of flowers and 30 to 38 petals, making it a large-flowered species.

The red beauty has a long blooming period, and large pink flowers cover the tree when in full bloom. An important early spring flowering tree, it can overwinter outdoors south of the Yangtze River.

During the festival, the flowers in the Edible Garden will also be in full bloom, including various varieties such as pink angels, green cherries, and non-sweet watermelons. In addition, various spring flowers will be exhibited, providing visitors with a vibrant spring flower viewing experience.
