On Jan 25, the fourth session of the 17th People's Congress of Haizhu district opened, summarizing the district's achievements from last year.

The industrial structure in Haizhu has shown positive trends, with the proportion of the industrial sector and the new generation information technology service industry in the GDP expected to exceed 11 and 15 percent, respectively.

The commercial areas have gained momentum, with the Jiangnan Cultural and Commercial Tourism Integration Zone being honored as a provincial-level demonstration characteristic commercial district. The first JD Super Mall has been established, innovatively creating a distinctive Haizhu brand for the Spring Festival economy.

Forbes has selected the Pazhou Central Business District (CBD) as one of the top 10 most competitive central business districts in China. The Pazhou Pilot Zone has been awarded as one of the top 10 national e-commerce demonstration bases for two consecutive years. Also, Haizhu has released the first provincial-level government cloud brain model. Additionally, the second Guangzhou Pazhou Algorithm Competition was held.

In the field of industrial internet, the number of enterprises in Haizhu district ranks first among the top 100 districts nationwide. The first integrated circuit industrial park has been completed and put into use. The gaming industry is expected to achieve a revenue of 9.94 billion yuan ($1.38 billion).

Regarding the living environment, Haizhu district has made efforts to promote the renovation of urban villages and facilitate effective transformation and orderly transfer of industries.
