Taikoo Warehouse No1, Guangzhou's critical project in the Haizhu district, reached its topping-out ceremony on Jan 9.

The project has an investment of approximately 2 billion yuan ($279.32 million) and covers a total construction area of around 85,000 square meters.

Taikoo Warehouse No 1 signifies a step toward the official debut of Guangzhou's first harbor-themed cultural and commercial landmark. Completing this project will add cultural charm, industrial vitality, and competitiveness to the Haizhu district's fusion of culture, commerce, and tourism.

Taikoo Warehouse is a renowned trademark of Guangzhou and a national 3A-level tourist attraction. It was established by the British firm Swire in 1904 and is currently operated by the Guangzhou Port Group.

Building upon the success of the first phase of Taikoo Warehouse, Taikoo Warehouse No 1 aims to enhance the area's waterfront, harbor, and historical elements. It will transform into Guangzhou's urban living room through multidimensional planning, spatial design, and architectural style improvements.

Upon completion, the project is expected to drive further the rapid development of the commercial, hotel, trade logistics, and tourism-related industries in the Haizhu district, injecting new vitality into the old harbor.
