Recently, Haizhu district announced its plans for the upcoming Chinese Lunar New Year festivities, featuring three main venues in the east, central, and west areas, hosting over 200 events.
From Jan 26 to the Lantern Festival on Feb 24, the celebrations promise residents a fresh and exciting experience.
Embracing the local characteristics, Haizhu district is set to offer captivating New Year's programs to the citizens and engage businesses to create a cultural carnival of immersive consumption.

The eastern venue is expected to kick off the Chinese Lunar New Year celebrations on Jan 26 at Pazhou. In Pazhou, the iconic Canton Tower is poised to be illuminated, accompanied by a drone performance forming the shape of a flying dragon. There will also be stalls showcasing creative products from representative enterprises in Pazhou.
The western venue anticipates hosting Binjiang and Jiangnan flower markets, showcasing the historical heritage of Guangzhou's flower markets from Henan. Traditional costume parades, ancient-style fashion shows, and shows by intangible cultural heritage inheritors will also be featured.
The central venue is determined to utilize the scenic locations of Haizhu Wetland, Haizhu Lake, Canton Tower, Guangzhou Cultural Center, and Guangzhou Art Museum to host large-scale cultural activities and daytime and nighttime markets. These events aim to showcase the integration of ecological beauty and modern cultural and commercial tourism.
