Pazhou Ferry Terminal, located in Haizhu district, has opened the Pazhou-Guishan Island in Zhuhai waterway route starting on Dec 28, 2023.

This route is the first high-speed waterway connection from Guangzhou to Guishan Island, signifying a new phase of integrated development for cross-city island tourism in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, carrying promising implications for fostering economic and cultural exchanges in the region.

Operating on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays, the route offers a one-way journey of three hours. Departing from Pazhou Ferry Terminal, the first departure is at 8:20 am, arriving at Zhuhai Guishan Island at 11:15 am. The return journey from Guishan Island departs at 3:30 pm, arriving at Pazhou Port at 6:30 pm.

Covering a total distance of about 70 nautical miles, this route connects multiple renowned attractions such as the former site of Huangpu Military Academy, Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link, Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, and Lantau Island in Hong Kong, unveiling the historical heritage and cultural landmarks of the Pearl River Estuary to passengers. The opening of this route provides travelers with more transportation options and offers citizens a unique waterway sightseeing experience.

Guishan Island is one of the top 10 beautiful islands in Zhuhai. The island features attractions such as the Guishan Warship Memorial Park, Wentianxiang Square, Nansha Tianhou Temple, Guishan Lighthouse, and the Western Coastline. Visitors can enjoy a cycling tour around the island.
