Chigang subdistrict in Haizhu district, Guangzhou city, has been renovated and revitalized in recent years.
Chigang subdistrict has achieved results in creating a cultural consumption scene and improving its business consumption environment by integrating red culture with urban trends.
This initiative has put multiple economic indicators of Chigang subdistrict at the forefront of the entire region in the first three quarters of this year. The total value added of the five major industries is approximately 22.2 billion yuan ($3.1 billion), ranking second in Haizhu district. The tax contribution accounts for 19.6 percent, with the highest growth rate in the district.
Chigang has made progress in optimizing its urban village environment. They have improved supporting facilities, implemented a new management system for rental housing, and enhanced its living environment.
The subdistrict has also stepped up efforts to promote environmental protection through education and publicity. By emphasizing environmental governance, the government has also managed to increase resident participation.
