The "Understanding Guangzhou" forum, an event under the 2023 Understanding China Conference (Guangzhou), took place in Haizhu district, Guangzhou city on Dec 3.

The forum focused on the topics such as Lingnan culture and the millennium trading center.

During the forum, Zhang Yongliang, deputy district mayor of Haizhu district, introduced the progress and achievements of Haizhu's cultural construction. He stated that Haizhu is focusing on inheriting historical culture and promoting Lingnan culture.

Haizhu district has established the city's first district-level cultural relic monitoring center, which strengthens cultural relic safety supervision. Haizhu district has been promoting the integration of culture, commerce, and tourism, in order to achieve its goal of becoming a cultural benchmark.

The district has established a modern public cultural service system with reasonable layout and complete functions. Major cultural facilities such as Guangzhou Cultural Center and Guangzhou Art Museum have been completed and opened in Haizhu district, contributing to Guangzhou's cultural undertakings.

A series of activities were also held on that day, with Chinese and foreign guests visiting the Guangzhou Cultural Center, the Haixin Bridge, the Pazhou Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy Experimental Zone, and other cultural landmarks and high-tech enterprises in order to understand Haizhu district's development.
