Guangdong Industry Technical College, located on Xingang West Road in Haizhu district, Guangzhou, is planning to upgrade and become Guangdong Industry Technical University.

Founded in 1933, Guangdong Industry Technical College is the only national demonstrative higher vocational college in Guangdong province. It is also a construction unit of China's characteristic high-level vocational school and high-level professional group ("Double High Plan"). Currently, the college has 18,326 full-time vocational students.

The college's predecessor was Guangdong Provincial First Vocational School, which has a 90-year history of vocational education. During the periods of 1959-1963 and 1978-1983, the school offered undergraduate vocational education.

Guangdong Industry Technical College currently has two campuses, one in Haizhu district, Guangzhou and one in Nanhai district, Foshan. The total campus area is 1,668.54 hectares. The college is based in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and serves the whole country, aiming to provide services for the transformation and upgrading of the light industry. Adhering to the motto "Virtue and Competence, Learning for Mastery" and the spirit of "Self-improvement, Dedication, Pragmatism, and Innovation," the college is committed to the fundamental task of cultivating the moral character and skills of its students, and has trained over 240,000 high-quality and highly skilled applied talents.
