As an important habitat for wildlife, Haizhu Wetland was selected for the International Important Wetland List in 2023 and has been recognized as the best protected area in the world. The protection of Haizhu Wetland mainly relies on ecological restoration and habitat recovery, which continuously enriches the biodiversity. Haizhu Wetland calls on the public to protect wildlife, avoid the disturbance, harm, and excessive consumption of wild animals, and actively promote the concept of ecological civilization.

Haizhu district has taken multiple measures in recent years, including establishing an ecological protection alliance, continuously deepening the biodiversity protection and restoration project, and establishing a wildlife epidemic monitoring and early warning system, to comprehensively protect the green heart of Guangzhou.
