The second phase of the 134th Canton Fair, which concluded on Oct 27, proved a major success.
The number of overseas buyers saw a major increase. The fair attracted a total of 157,200 overseas buyers from 215 countries and regions, representing an increase of 53.6 percent compared to the previous session. The number of buyers from countries along the Belt and Road exceeded 100,000, a growth rate of 69.9 percent. Additionally, the number of European and American buyers rebounded, with a growth rate of 54.9 percent.
The exhibition zone's layout was optimized with the establishment of a furniture section, meeting the international market's demand for consumer upgrades. The number of exhibition areas for household goods, gifts and decorations, and building materials and furniture reached 170,000, 200,000 and 140,000 square meters, respectively.
Green and low-carbon products received great attention from overseas buyers. The exhibition hall showcased a large number of green and low-carbon products, which became the products-of-choice among enterprises, especially European and American ones.
A variety of innovative products were released and trade matchmaking activities were held, with new product launches, professional forums, and the "Trade Bridge".
The third phase of the 134th Canton Fair will be held from Oct 31 to Nov 4 and will focus on showcasing products such as toys, maternity items, clothing, household textiles, stationery, and health and leisure products. It is expected to attract 11,312 exhibitors.
