The first phase of the 134th Canton Fair concluded successfully on Oct 19. One of the highlights of Zone D's trade services was an innovative offering by the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) Guangzhou Branch. The bank introduced a foreign currency self-service exchange machine integrated with a digital RMB hardware wallet.

The self-service machine stands out for its versatility, contributing to an innovative, convenient, and secure experience for exhibitors and attendees at the Canton Fair. It can exchange Chinese RMB for 17 different currencies and recharge digital RMB hardware wallets. The digital RMB hardware wallet itself is a highlight, known for its beautiful design, strong security, and convenience. Users can transact with digital RMB without needing to bind a software wallet.

The hardware wallet is also compatible with digital RMB POS terminals in pilot cities like Guangzhou. This feature allows its use in various outlets, including convenience stores at the Canton Fair and Guangzhou Friendship stores. In addition, ICBC Guangzhou has rolled out a range of digital RMB promotions specifically tailored for the Canton Fair.

Participants can use the digital RMB wallet for convenient and discounted shopping at designated convenience stores. Canton Store, located within the fairgrounds, is one of these participating outlets. The initiative ensures a seamless and economical shopping experience for all visitors.
