After five days of dynamic exhibitions, the first phase of the 134th session of the China Import and Export Fair - also known as the Canton Fair - concluded on Oct 19.
The fair showcased its continuous improvements in scale and structure, particularly with the inclusion of approximately 3,000 additional booths in the household appliances, electronics, and new energy sectors. Notably, the new energy sector saw a growth of 172 percent.
The enthusiasm of overseas buyers surpassed expectations, with more than 100,000 attending in person. Among them, nearly 70,000 buyers came from countries connected to the Belt and Road Initiative, marking a 65.2 percent increase compared to the previous fair.
The online platform was also bustling with activity, drawing close to 7 million visitors, of which 86 percent were international guests. Exhibitors uploaded over 2.7 million products onto the official Canton Fair website.
This edition of the Canton Fair also witnessed numerous trade promotion events, including 40 "Bridges of Trade" matchmaking sessions and 177 new product debut events. The second phase of the fair is set to run from Oct 23 to 27, with a focus on showcasing household items, gifts, and furniture.
