Haizhu district has once again become China's window to the outside world as the 134th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) opened on Oct 15. 

Haizhu has a wealth of scientific and educational resources, with research institutions such as Sun Yat-sen University, the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the China National Electric Apparatus Research Institute, and the 7th Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation all located here.

The district is also the core area of Guangzhou's artificial intelligence and digital economy pilot zone, with enterprises such as Alibaba, Tencent, Vipshop, and TCL rooted there. In the first half of the year, Haizhu's Pazhou Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy Pilot Zone achieved 197.51 billion yuan ($27.01 billion) in operating income and had 2,153 newly registered enterprises, with a total of 35,000 enterprises.

It is accelerating the development of a modern industrial system and strengthening technological innovation to achieve the common development of the urban industry and digital economy.

The district has started to compiling the "Data Broker Capability Maturity Assessment Model Group Standard" to promote the development of a data broker system.
