To mark this year's Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day, Guangzhou's Haizhu district will hold a series of cultural and tourism activities from 6 pm to 10 pm on Sept 28 and 29 along Yuejiang West Road, creating a leisure belt to help promote consumption.
Yuejiang West Road is a witness to the development of Guangzhou's new central axis, connecting the Zhujiang New Town in Tianhe district and famous landmarks such as the Canton Tower in Haizhu.
During the event, people can visit five scenic spots along the road, as well as participate in the Mid-Autumn Festival Garden Party, where they can enjoy performances by inheritors of Guangzhou's intangible cultural heritage items, such as puppet shows, Cantonese music, Wing Chun, and a hanfu (Chinese-style clothing worn in ancient times) parade.
In addition, there will be experiential activities for Cantonese embroidery, Chinese copper printing, paper cutting, Canton porcelain, and colored lanterns.
The event will also feature outdoor camping during the Mid-Autumn Festival, allowing participants to enjoy the beauty of the full moon and the river.
