The Nanzhou Neighborhood Chamber of Commerce held its first general meeting on Sept 11 in Haizhu district, Guangzhou, marking the formal establishment of the chamber of commerce. The first leadership team was elected during the meeting.

Sun Mingxia, chairman of the newly elected president unit Guangzhou Baolijie Used Motor Vehicle Trading Market Management, stated that the chamber of commerce will play a pivotal role as a bridge, representing member companies in conveying their voices to the government, enhancing development vitality, and uniting entrepreneurs.

Wen Guangping, secretary of the Party working committee of Nanzhou neighborhood, emphasized that the chamber of commerce should identify its role, strengthen self-construction, and actively fulfill its functions like providing suggestions and proposals, supporting poverty alleviation, attracting investment, and more.

Nanzhou neighborhood is located at the intersection of the southern section of Guangzhou's central axis and the high-quality development belt along the Pearl River. It covers a total area of 12.34 square kilometers with a permanent population of approximately 161,400. In the first half of this year, the added value of the five major industries in the district reached 11.43 billion yuan ($1.57 billion), ranking second in Guangzhou in terms of growth rate.

The first members of the Nanzhou Neighborhood Chamber of Commerce are composed of more than 50 key enterprises, covering various industries. The establishment of the chamber of commerce will provide a platform for communication and cooperation among local enterprises, facilitating resource sharing, information exchange, and enhancing overall competitiveness, thereby promoting high-quality economic development in Nanzhou.
