The Haizhu district People's Court - in the Haizhu district of Guangzhou, capital of South China's Guangdong province - held a seminar on Sept 9, focusing on how to create a law-based business environment conducive to the development of private enterprise.

During the seminar, participants discussed various topics such as the multiple resolution of disputes involving enterprises, criminal risk prevention in the private economy and credit repairing of enterprises after execution.

Since the local Pazhou Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy Experimental Zone started the introduction of large-scale industrial investments in 2015, Haizhu has become an important gathering place for private enterprises. Private investment in fixed assets now accounts for about 30 percent of the district's total fixed-asset investment.

With a vibrant private economy and strong innovative awareness, new types of businesses have been continually emerging in the district. There is also an increasing demand for precise and timely legal services to prevent and resolve internal legal risks and operational risks faced by enterprises.

In recent years, the Haizhu district People's Court has introduced an innovative "judicial + taxation" mechanism, to promote the resolution of such issues as enterprise tax-related creditor's rights declarations and tax-payer credit repairs.

It has also invited entrepreneurs and bankruptcy administrators to visit the court to gain a close understanding of various policies related to the business environment. In addition, it has put on policy and legal knowledge lectures relating to business development.
