The 12th issue of Pazhou π magazine recently came out and it covers the textiles and fashion center - the Zhongda Textile Commercial Circle - in the Haizhu district of Guangzhou, capital of South China's Guangdong province.
Pazhou is a subdistrict of Haizhu in southeastern Guangzhou and the magazine was launched by the CPC Haizhu district committee, Pazhou Management Committee and Southern Metropolis Daily in July last year as a talent information themed publication.
Pazhou π reports on the latest developments of Pazhou's digital economy, the new vitality of Haizhu, as well as offer recommendations on where to eat, drink and have fun in the area.
Against the background of digitalization in the local fashion and textiles industries, a group of enterprises are reportedly already thriving in the Zhongda Textile Commercial Circle.
One of them is Zhijing Technology. Li Yaping, co-founder and senior vice president, said the group was focused on creating digitalized and intelligent tools, which enabled anyone to become a designer.
Another resident is the Huimei Group. Vice president Qu Jing said the company was responding to the competition and changes in the current clothing industry.
Feng Yongqiang, South China director of Pop Trend, said it has built and operates 15 fashion industrial complexes. Focusing on original design, Feng said the company aims to drive the development of the regional fashion economy.
Elsewhere, Chen Qiao, one of the top 10 clothing designers in Guangdong, says she integrates Canton embroidery with modern design, making traditional culture more appealing to young people.
After founding her own brand of embroidered dresses, designer Tang Zhiru continuously innovated and brought this traditional craftsmanship, which has been passed down in Guangzhou for over 600 years, to the modern fashion catwalk.
