The city of Guangzhou - capital of South China's Guangdong province - has been helping out with the high-quality development of Longyan city, located in South China's Fujian province.
To date, Guangzhou's total investment in key projects in Longyan has topped 40 billion yuan ($5.49 billion) and the Guangzhou-Longyan Cooperative Industrial Park has been unveiled, demonstrating the progress of the assistance.
To extend their exchanges and joint ventures, Guangzhou and Longyan have identified four mechanisms for high-level visits, coordinated advancement, departmental exchanges, as well as district and county connections.
What's more, Guangzhou's medical resources have been brought to Longyan, providing high-quality public services.
Elsewhere, the transportation network has also been improving, with direct high-speed trains and air routes opened, promoting exchanges and connectivity between the two.
In terms of cultural tourism, they've signed a framework agreement and several sub agreements on education, healthcare, culture and tourism. Joint tourism has been boosted and Longyan has become one of the popular destinations for Guangdong tourists.
Cooperation in key industrial parks has also made progress. For example, the Gaopo area of the Longyan National Economic & Technological Development Zone has become an important base for industrial cooperation between Guangzhou and Longyan.
