With sections II and III of the entrance and exit section lines of Guangzhou Metro Line 11 having completed tunneling, the city's first metro loop line recently achieved full connectivity.
As a result, Binjiang East Road in the Haizhu district of Guangzhou - capital of South China's Guangdong province - reopened on Sept 10. At that time, the east-west traffic on the road resumed normal operations.
Vehicles can turn right south to east at the intersection of Yihai Road and Binjiang East Road and go straight east to west on the temporary bridge.
Metro Line 11 is a circular trunk line that supplements Guangzhou's subway network and alleviates traffic pressure in the city's central urban area.
With a total length of 44.2 kilometers, the line passes through Tianhe, Baiyun, Yuexiu, Liwan and Haizhu districts. It has a total of 32 stations, with 24 being interchange stations. Some 92 percent of its civil engineering work has been completed.
