A signing ceremony for the construction of an archway was held on Aug 16 in the Jiangnan west business area of Haizhu district.
The establishment of the new archway is intended to attract more people and revitalize the old business area, promoting cultural and commercial integration in the area.
The new archway is funded by Su Jingqiao, the person in charge of Fuliang Pavilion in the Jiangnan cultural, commercial and tourism integration zone, which was built based on the Jiangnan west business area.
The archway stands at 7.8 meters high and 7 meters wide, incorporating a modern and minimalist design concept while maintaining the architectural elements of Shixiang Garden. Renowned calligrapher Li Zhuoqi wrote the four characters "Bishui Yaoxi", which means emerald waters and crystal streams, for the archway.
The archway will provide a new leisure space for residents and enhance the cultural richness of the Jiangnan cultural, commercial and tourism integration zone. Additionally, a couplet collection activity was held to encourage public participation in enriching the culture in the area.
The archway is the result of cooperation between the government and enterprises. It will further promote the development of the section where Lingnan School of Painting is located and create a thriving Jiangnan cultural, commercial and tourism integration zone.
