The 10th Guangzhou Marathon, initiated in 2012, will be held on Dec 10. Featuring a full marathon (42.2 kilometers) and a half marathon (21.1 km), it is expected to receive a total of 30,000 participants this year.
Both races will start at the Tianhe Sports Center in Tianhe district, while the half marathon will end at the North Square of Area A of the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Haizhu district and the full marathon will end at Tianhe's Huacheng Square.
Registration will last from 10 am on Sept 5 to 5 pm on Sept 25. Participants can register on the official website of the Guangzhou Marathon or through the Malamala (马拉马拉) or Shuzixindong (数字心动) apps.
The registration fee for Chinese applicants (including those from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) is 160 yuan ($21.9) per person, while that for foreign applicants is $40 per person.
Those participating in the full marathon must be 20 years of age or older (born on or before Dec 31, 2003), while those in the half marathon events must be 16 or older (born on or before Dec 31, 2007).
Proof of completion of a full marathon or a half marathon between Jan 1, 2019 and Sept 4, 2023 must also be provided by participants. Online marathon results are not valid.
