Designers are deploying a variety of great flowers to decorate the book festival, including carnations, sunflowers and lavenders. The flowers being used for the fair have six different colors, including orange, red, green, yellow, blue and purple.

The main venue will have six major exhibition areas, including those covering themed publishing, Guangzhou books, lifestyle books and Chinese animation.

In ancient times, the bookstore was an esteemed academy of classical learning. In recognition of that, the designers have used Chen Clan Academy as their guide.

It features exemplary traditional Lingnan (Guangdong and nearby southeastern China provinces) ancestral hall-style architecture. It's highly representative of the local culture, according to Xu Muchuan, the chief designer of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts.

The organizers say this year's book festival is combining traditional culture and contemporary fashionable design elements to provide people with a "reading +" experience.
