The GDP of Haizhu hit 126 billion yuan ($18 billion) in the first half year, an increase of 8.2 percent year-on-year, ranking it second among the 11 districts in Guangzhou.

The total output value of industrial enterprises in Haizhu above designated size (annual turnover of over 20 million yuan) was 42.7 billion yuan, up 22.5 percent and ranking it first in the city.

Revenue generated by the new generation of the information technology services industry alone was 27.56 billion yuan, up by 22 percent.

Pazhou posted revenue of 19.75 billion yuan, during the period, with 2,153 newly registered enterprises. As a result, it is now home to about 35,000 enterprises in total.

The industrial enterprises above a designated size in the core industry of the digital economy in Haizhu in H1 achieved total revenue of 44.43 billion yuan, an increase of 15 percent.

On July 20, the Pazhou Digital Technology Industrial Park opened, which is the first game industry creative park in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Furthermore, Pazhou is reported to have attracted many leading game companies. In 2022, the revenue of game enterprises above a designated size in Pazhou came in at 8.75 billion yuan, a whopping increase of 88 percent year-on-year.
