In the first half of the year, the GDP growth of Haizhu district continued to rank among the top in Guangzhou.

Haizhu is moving to develop a new highland for high-quality development in Guangzhou and is picking up the pace to build a digital district to promote its high-quality development.

Haizhu district plans to build a "1+6+N" modern industrial system. The "1" refers to vigorously developing a headquarters economy. The "6" refers to expanding and strengthening six strategic pillar industries, including new-generation information technology, modern commerce, high-end services, exhibition and tourism, intelligent construction and urban industry. The "N" refers to intensively cultivating future industries.

In the first half of the year, the new generation information technology service industry in Haizhu grew by 22 percent compared with the previous corresponding period. It aims to introduce and nurture over 60 leading and backbone enterprises, with a revenue growth rate exceeding 30 percent for the whole year.

Moreover, Haizhu has in place industrial Internet platforms such as Baidu Paddle, strengthening the digital empowerment of traditional industries such as textiles and apparel manufacturing.

Haizhu will hold major events like the Canton Fair, the Pazhou International Algorithm Competition and the Industrial Internet Summit. It will also make good use of such platforms as the Pazhou Digital Economy Demonstration Zone to promote the development of its digital economy.
