The contractors for the Guangzhou Metro Line 10, 11 and 12 passing through the Haizhu district recently reported making renewed progress in the massive construction project.
Recently, the section from Caihongqiao Station to Zhongshanba Station on Guangzhou Metro Line 11 passed its quality inspection. Line 11 is the first circular metro line in Guangzhou, with a total length of 44.2 kilometers. It is fully underground and has 32 stations, including 24 transfer stations.
Among the 32 stations, one is currently undergoing preliminary preparations work, two stations have opened, 27 stations have been capped and the remaining two are undergoing civil construction.
Of the 32 sections of the metro, one section has been completed and opened, 30 sections have been connected and one section is under construction. The mechanical and electrical construction has started in 20 stations, 32 percent of the work has been completed, while the laying of the short track has reached 38 percent completion.
The route runs through the main urban areas of Guangzhou, connecting Haizhu, Tianhe, Baiyun, Yuexiu and Liwan districts and linking major transportation hubs such as Guangzhou Railway Station and Guangzhou East Railway Station. After Line 11 is opened for operation, it is expected to significantly improve the transfer efficiency of the entire Guangzhou Metro.
Guangzhou Metro Line 10 mainly passes through Haizhu, Tianhe, Yuexiu, and Liwan districts. Among the 14 sections of the metro, nine have been connected and four are under construction.

Meanwhile, Guangzhou Metro Line 12 mainly passes through Haizhu, Baiyun, Yuexiu, Huangpu and Panyu districts. Among the 25 metro stations, 17 have completed the main structural work, while eight are currently undergoing civil construction. Of the 24 sections, 10 have been connected, 11 are undergoing civil construction and three are in the pre-construction stage.
