Two schools in Haizhu district recently won three prestigious sporting competitions, which showed the determination of its locals to go for glory.

Guangzhou No 5 High School won the 2022-23 Guangzhou High School Champions Cup Football Match on June 16. This is the school's second championship in the competition after a five-year gap.

The football match was organized by the Guangzhou municipal education bureau and over 400 players from 16 teams participated. It is the largest high school football competition in Guangzhou.

Elsewhere, Guangzhou No 5 Middle School won the boys' junior high school group B competition for the 9th Guangzhou Primary and Secondary School Students Football Match on July 2. This is also the first time in five years that Guangzhou No.5 Middle School has won the competition.

Beishan Primary School won the championships in both the men's and women's volleyball competitions, held from June 17 to 18. Competitions had 40 teams with 468 participants.

In recent years, the volleyball team from Beishan Primary School has won over 20 championships in provincial and municipal-level competitions, showing its strong sporting prowess.
