The groundbreaking ceremony for the planned Jiangnan Cultural and Commercial Complex was held in the Haizhu on July 1.

The complex has been designed to promote Haizhu in its efforts to become an international consumption center.

The facility will be divided into two parts, one focusing on social leisure and the other on quality of life.

It will introduce leisure, international and trendy retail industries and focus on the local catering sector by introducing Cantonese and themed dining.

The complex will also have technology brands, international boutique furnishings, cultural and creative products and high-quality consumer services.

Haizhu plans to take the next five years to build the Jiangnan Cultural, Business and Tourism Integration Circle into a demonstration area for cultural and business tourism consumption in the west of Haizhu. The complex is seen as being an important part of the integration circle.
