This is the first riding event in downtown Guangzhou to have full road access. Its 12.4-kilometer route started from the Canton Tower. Competitors then had to pass through Exhibition Park, the China Import and Export Fair Complex, Poly International Square, Shuibo Garden, and Poly Tianmu Square, before returning to the Canton Tower.

Among the 3,000 cyclists, the oldest was 70 years old, and the youngest was eight years of age. Around 100 families joined in the event as teams.

A participant surnamed Li said this activity gave the riders an opportunity to roam around Haizhu and let people have a deeper understanding of the city.
