The digital industry is a major developing sector in Haizhu. In recent years, Haizhu has strived to accelerate the development of its digital industry.

Haizhu has been focused on providing political services for enterprises. So far, staff workers of the Haizhu district government have collected and solved more than 120 business problems.

Haizhu has also continued to promote exchanges and cooperation between enterprises. For example, Root Cloud has continued to develop under Haizhu's good business environment. Additionally, the company has been selected to be part of the Magic Quadrant for Global Industrial Internet of Things Platforms for four consecutive years.

Haizhu attaches great importance to attracting and training digital industry talents. In June, Haizhu held an algorithm enterprise job fair in Pazhou. More than half of the promoted job positions have an annual salary of more than 300,000 yuan ($41,410), with the highest annual salary reaching 1.2 million yuan. Haizhu also held a digital vocational skills competition to identify high-quality digital industry talents.

Haizhu plans to upgrade the Pazhou Laboratory to a national-level laboratory, develop Pazhou into "China's algorithm valley", construct 19 research centers and 56 key research projects in artificial intelligence industry zones, and introduce 398 scientific research and technical talents. At present, Haizhu has attracted 30 academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering to live and work here.

Over the last three years, Haizhu has attracted 316 high-quality overseas talents to work in local enterprises and scientific research institutions. Haizhu has also introduced measures and incentives that value up to 100 million yuan to encourage talents.

At present, the number of high-level talents in Haizhu accounts for one-fifth of the total number of talents in the city, which includes 1,324 industrial elites.

Thanks to its efforts, Haizhu's regional GDP reached 68.85 billion yuan, an increase of 6.1 percent year-on-year. The operating income of digital enterprises above-designed size in Haizhu reached 17.66 billion yuan, an increase of 16.2 percent.
