Mo Yanhong, secretary-general of the Guangzhou Haizhu District Youth Volunteers Association, said the volunteer team will have a front-line patrol unit.

Each patrol unit will carry out activities and learn about ancient tree conservation in areas where ancient trees are concentrated, including Xiaogang Park and Sun Yat-sen University.

In all, there are 70 registered ancient trees in Haizhu district. Voluntary service activities are seen as being conducive to their protection.
