On June 17, Haizhu won the gold medal at the 2023 Guangzhou International Dragon Boat Invitational Tournament.

Nearly 5,000 competitors from 125 dragon boat teams participated in the race. Haizhu had 16 dragon boat teams participating in this event, including two traditional, four standardized, eight colorful, and two slender (You dragon) dragon boat teams, with many of them winning awards.

In the men's 22-member dragon boat race, 34 teams from all over the country competed in six groups. The Haizhu dragon boat team won the race with a time of 1 minute 58 seconds.

Haizhu has a long history of dragon boat culture and annually hosts dragon boat activities. Haizhu will hold the 5th Haizhu Wetland Dragon Boat Activity at the Haizhu National Wetland Park from June 21 to 24. It includes a traditional dragon boat show on June 21, the Haizhu Wetland Dragon Boat Racing Invitational Tournament on June 22, and the Haizhu Wetland Dragon Boat Race on June 24. The public dragon boat experience activities will be held from June 22 to 23, with a dragon boat carnival being held from June 21 to 24.

Additionally, Pazhou is holding the first Pazhou Dragon Boat Festival Carnival from June 17 to 22, which includes dragon boat races, cultural exhibitions, and folk music concerts.
