The Guangzhou Museum of Art will be open to public in the second half of this year. After its lights turn on, the museum's new hall will resemble a blooming flower.

At present, the main building of the museum has entered its inspection stage, while the curtain wall lighting is still in its commissioning stage.
The 12 curtain walls, which act as the "petals" in this project, are each handmade with 2,008 pieces of fish-scale photovoltaic glass. In order to produce the arc effect, the assembly error of each wall has to be controlled within 2 millimeters.
The inner layer of the curtain walls is equipped with colored aluminum panels, helping create a gorgeous visual effect.
The museum is the first public building in the world to adopt photovoltaic technology on all five facades. Of note, China owns the intellectual property rights for this thin-film solar photovoltaic technology.
The museum incorporates four green building technologies, including an advanced sunlight-harvesting lighting system, an integrated roof system with photovoltaic cells and a rooftop solar heat collection system.
The museum is divided into five floors above ground and two floors below ground, with some levels reaching between 8 and 19.5 meters high to meet the museum's exhibition needs.
The museum will be built into a large-scale international and digital art platform in Guangzhou that integrates collection, exhibition, research and exchange, and education functions.
