In recent years, Haizhu has endeavored to develop its algorithm industry. Due to the industry's quick development, Haizhu is now ramping up efforts to identify and attract more talents to support it.

In 2022, the Haizhu district government work report proposed to shift focus to the three pillars of artificial intelligence development: algorithm, data, and computing power. They also aimed to strengthen Pazhou's core industries, and create "China's Algorithm Valley".

Recently, Haizhu released its 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) for the development of the digital economy. By 2025, the overall scale of the district's core digital economy industry is expected to exceed 135 billion yuan ($19 billion). Other goals in this timeframe are to cultivate eight listed core digital economy enterprises and 40 digital economy unicorn enterprises, as well as to build more than 10 domestically leading digital economy open-innovation platforms and transformation bases.

Additionally, Haizhu held the 2023 Pazhou Algorithm Enterprise Job Fair on May 27. Most of the promoted positions had an annual salary of more than 300,000 yuan, with the highest annual salary reaching 1.2 million yuan.

The second Guangzhou Pazhou Algorithm Competition is currently being held to identify and cultivate algorithmic talents. Haizhu also built and launched the "Zhiju" job platform in 2020. Since its launch, the platform has listed 640,000 jobs, gained 10.18 million page views, and recieved 2.99 million resumes.
