The Alibaba Cloud summit of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) was held in Guangzhou on June 1. At the summit, Alibaba Cloud and Haizhu cemented plans to cooperate to build a new smart district.

Alibaba Cloud and Haizhu plan to build a secure new infrastructure that deeply integrates new technologies with urban governance. They will lead the new district's development with core technologies such as algorithms, and support the construction of diversified digital innovation.

Alibaba Cloud has been operating in Guangzhou for many years. Huang Haiqing, president of Alibaba Cloud China, said that Guangzhou is a core city in the GBA and that it is an important engine for neighboring regions.

He added that in the new stage of digital development and intelligent development, Alibaba Cloud will continue to increase its investment in Guangzhou, and help the city achieve a 3-trillion-yuan ($422-billion) economic aggregate this year by utilizing cutting-edge technology, such as generalized computing and artificial intelligence.
