GG Bond celebrates 18 years in Haizhu

GG Bond, a cartoon image of a pig that was made by WinSing Animation, has been accompanying children in Haizhu for 18 years.

"The red tiger hat is a unique design that GG Bond has had for 18 years," said Yan Bing, vice president of WinSing Animation. This computer-generated image (CGI) is a role model for children, and is a national grassroots hero with Chinese characteristics.

Since 2005, the GG Bond brand has made 18 full-length animations, five additional films and eight animated films, with a cumulative film volume of more than 20,000 minutes. GG Bond has maintained its annual minimum of 104 new episodes and one major film, achieving coverage in several mainstream platforms. GG Bond is now a domestic animation brand with the highest number of single-IP animated films.

In 2014, Internet video platforms started legalization copyrights, and through this GG Bond has also realized profit from their Internet copyrights. Since 2014, copyrights have accounted for more than 50 percent of WinSing Animation's main income.

Now, more than 150 TV stations broadcast the GG Bond series every year, with more than 500,000 minutes of airtime. The annual viewership of WinSing Animation ranks first, with the highest viewership reaching 2.82 percent, and the online broadcast volume reaching 40 billion.

Last year, Winsing Animation made 30 million yuan ($4 million) by selling the television copyright of its animations. This deal accounted for 27.18 percent of its total revenue, while its profits from derivatives accounted for 45.46 percent.
