The 2023 launch ceremony for National Forest and Grass Science and Technology Week was held in Beijing on May 28. Haizhu National Wetland Park was included in the first batch of national forest and grass science popularization bases by the National Forestry and Grassland Administration and the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Located in the southern section of the central axis of Guangzhou city, Haizhu National Wetland Park has an area of approximately 1,100 hectares, of which 869 hectares are included in the national wetland plan.
Haizhu National Wetland Park has a 19.8-kilometer ecological belt, four bird-watching houses, more than 10 science galleries and more than 4000 interpretation boards. All of these features create a good atmosphere for forestry science popularization.
The park has more than 1,200 registered volunteers, including 183 professional volunteers. The park has held more than 250 public wetland education courses, bird surveys, bird watching competitions held in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, and South China's Nature Education Forum.
The park has established long-term partnerships with more than 20 organizations to provide various nature education courses to the public. Over the last three years, more than 1,700 forestry science education activities have been held in Haizhu Wetland, with millions of participants.
The park has been awarded several titles, including the titles of Long-term National Forestry and Grassland Scientific Research Base, Ecological Science Popularization Education Base, National Science Popularization Education Base, Guangdong High-quality Nature Education Base in 2022, and the Guangdong Environmental Education Demonstration Base.
