Haizhu held the opening ceremony of the 2023 China University Student Fashion Week on May 19 at the Zhongda Cloth Market. More than 22 universities in Guangdong province participated.

The fashion week is scheduled to be held for 11 days and various activities will be held. This includes university graduation design exhibitions, the finals for the Guangdong universities' outstanding costume design competition and a designer expert forum.

This annual fashion week has been held for 18 consecutive years, contributing to the cultivation of more than 20,000 innovative design talents every year for the textile and garment industry in Guangdong and even the whole country.

In recent years, Haizhu has focused on the development of the Zhongda Cloth Market, and has now become the world's largest textile surface accessories trading base. In 2021, it won the title of "famous textile and fashion district in China". Haizhu will continue to strengthen cooperation with universities to develop the textile industry.

As an important part of this fashion week, the "Guangzhou International Textile City Cup" was held. This creative design competition invited Liu Yang, honorary lifetime president of the Guangdong Fashion Designers Association, to be the judge. This competition will award prizes to innovative talents from 16 groups.
