Recently, Haizhu held a conference to facilitate building match-making in Pazhou west area.

At the conference, staff workers from the Haizhu district housing and construction bureau and the Haizhu planning and natural resources bureau introduced current and future road construction projects that will take place in Pazhou west area.

The construction projects for roads and underground spaces in Pazhou west area are divided into six major projects, including the road projects around the general Pazhou west area, Shuangta Road, Haizhou Road, west Pazhou Street and its surrounding roads, South Pazhou Street and the underground space of Pazhou west area.

Pazhou west area is to build nine municipal roads including three horizontal and six vertical roads with a total length of 4.34 kilometers and a total construction area of 100,000 square meters. To date, 70 percent of the project has been completed and it will be fully completed before November.

Of the new municipal roads, construction on the first, second, third, fifth, sixth, and ninth roads is set to be completed in June. Construction on the fourth, seventh and eighth roads is planned to be completed before the end of December.

Plans are for Shuangta Road to be a secondary urban arterial road, with a total road length of about 1.94 km and a width of 40 to 90 meters. It will have six bidirectional lanes and a designated speed of 40 km per hour. As the scope of the project involves the construction of Metro 28, the project will be implemented in two phases.

Haizhou Road will be built in a general north-south direction, with a proposed length of about 880 meters. It is currently in the early stage of project approval and is expected to start construction in June 2024.

The west Pazhou Street and surrounding roads projects involve 16 roads, among which two are secondary trunk roads and 14 are branch roads. They will have a width of 10 to 30 m and a total length of about 4.5 km.

The total construction area of the underground project in Pazhou west area is planned to be 60,000 sq m, divided into two underground floors. The first underground floor is designated for commercial and pedestrian purposes, and the second underground floor will be a mechanical parking lot with 489 parking spaces. The project is 90 percent complete and is scheduled to be completed in June and pass approval procedures in December.
