Hosting this painting and calligraphy exhibition is now a tradition for the Haizhu Children's Palace. In the 1980s, it hosted the first Chinese children's ink painting competition. Liao Bingxiong, a famous Chinese cartoonist, was invited as a judge. Over the years, the Haizhu Children's Palace has insisted on carrying out a variety of art enrichment activities. In doing so, the palace has not only cultivated many young talents in painting and calligraphy, but also received the attention of Pan He, Yang Zhiguang, Tang Daxi, Xu Hongfei, Chen Qiuming, Zhou Shujian and other well-known artists.

This is the first exhibition after the completion of the palace's comprehensive exhibition hall. The hall is divided into seven sections, and more than 100 painting and calligraphy works that were created by teachers and students are currently on display.
Among the excellent works created by the teachers and students, the calligraphy works include running, official and regular scripts, and the other art works include traditional Chinese paintings, printmaking, watercolor, paper cutting and handicrafts.
Haizhu Children's Palace will cooperate with the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts to jointly establish an off-campus aesthetic education teaching base to conduct teaching research and curriculum development.
The exhibition will continue to May 18, and is free to the public on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, and 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
