A student who participated in the activity said, "Planting Spanish jasmine not only allows our precious intangible cultural heritage to continue to be passed on, but also makes the sidewalk along the Pearl River more beautiful and dynamic."
The legend of Spanish jasmine is commonly known in Haizhu district, Guangzhou. Spanish jasmine, also named Suxin flower in China, is said to be a Lingnan folk legend produced in memory of a maid named Suxin in the Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 220). It expresses the emotion of a woman who is indifferent to her ambition and pursues the true, the good, and the beautiful.
