The results of the seventh National Primary and Middle School Art Exhibition and Performance were announced by the Ministry of Education, with two schools in Haizhu winning awards.

No 1 Primary School of Tongfu Zhong Road in Haizhu district won first prize for the development and implementation of a school-based curriculum of Xianshui songs. Over the years, the school has actively carried out activities to pass on intangible cultural heritage items like Xianshui songs, producing effective results.

The student art practice workshop "Foshan woodblock new year pictures" from Pazhou Experimental School of Guangzhou Zhixin Middle School won second prize. In 2018, the school introduced woodblock prints, an intangible cultural heritage item, while a woodblock prints workshop and an art club were established.

In recent years, the Haizhu district education bureau has deepened the reform of aesthetic education. It aims to develop an education system that will foster citizens with an all-round moral, intellectual, physical, and aesthetic grounding, in addition to a hard-working spirit.
