Haizhu recently held a conference on high-quality sports development, with participation from local social sports organizations, enterprises and related financial institutions.

At the conference, Xie Zhengquan, president of the Haizhu District Sports Association, reported Haizhu's 2022 sports-related work summary, as well as Haizhu's 2023 work plan for sports.

The conference also honored members of the Haizhu District Sports Association, charity enterprises and volunteer sports teams for their outstanding performance in the fight against COVID-19 in 2022.

Zhu Tai, director General of Haizhu district's culture, tourism and sports bureau, expressed his gratitude and congratulations to the organizations, enterprises and institutions that received awards, and praised the Haizhu District Sports Association for its work.

He pointed out that Haizhu should give full play to the advantages of football, badminton and table tennis in the coming year. The district was also encouraged to develop public sports and competitive sports, innovate competitions, establish a brand, and link with more industries such as science, technology and culture.

In addition, members from the Guangzhou sports association and Haizhu district's women's association joined the conference along with local municipal department representatives from the Haizhu bureau of culture, radio, television, tourism and sports, and the Haizhu bureau of civil affairs.
