In recent years, Haizhu has been optimizing its electrical services for residents.

In 2021, the Pazhou digital distribution network demonstration area achieved "no noticeable power cut". This means that the power supply bureau is able to restore the power supply, so that people do not feel the power failure. In August 2022, Haizhu issued the first "data broker" license in China, including the power sector.

In 2021, Pazhou reached 100 percent in returnable power supply rate, low-voltage connection rate, voltage qualified rate, coverage rate of smart power houses, as well as coverage rate of smart blocks, self-restoration, and all-optical fiber. This indicates that the Haizhu power supply bureau has built a high-quality power supply demonstration zone in the Pazhou artificial intelligence and digital economy pilot zone.

On Sept 14, 2022, a 10-kilovolt cable in Chigang Substation in Haizhu suffered insulation damage, resulting in a regional power outage. The Haizhu district power supply bureau started the self-restoration system, which automatically isolated the faulty cable and diverted power through a non-faulty section. It took 81 seconds to restore power. This was the first self-restoration event since the cloud platform was put into operation at the end of 2021.

In 2022, the Haizhu district power supply bureau put in 603 new self-restoration feeders, performed self-restoration 28 times, restored 290 transformers, recovered 47.41 megawatts of load, and restored 40,184 medium and low voltage users to a normal power supply.

The Haizhu power supply bureau has improved operation and maintenance efficiency through intelligent technologies such as intelligent power rooms, platforms, management areas and equipment.
