Haizhu issued measures to promote the development of copyright innovation on Oct 19, 2022, and it has followed Guangdong province's copyright regulations since Jan 1, 2023.
Haizhu plans to provide financial funds worth 17 million yuan ($2 million) for three years to promote the development of copyright enterprises.
In recent years, Haizhu has developed five key copyright industries including software and animation games, creative design, film, exhibition, as well as textile. Haizhu plans to build a 100-billion-yuan core copyright industry cluster to increase cooperation opportunities with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
In 2021, Haizhu's core copyright industry's added value accounted for more than 12 percent of its GDP. As the highland of industry's investment, the Pazhou Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy Pilot Zone has attracted many companies that focus on digital economy, copyright and culture.
In 2021, over 770 enterprises in the core copyright industry settled in Haizhu. In 2022, Haizhu attracted eight key enterprises in the core copyright industry with operating revenues of over 50 million yuan.
Haizhu has two national copyright demonstration areas and parks, five provincial copyright demonstration bases, and over 10,000 copyright registrations per year.
The district built the city's first comprehensive platform for copyright protection services for digital economy in Pazhou, and built a copyright protection service workstation in western Haizhu.
The district communicated with enterprises, the Guangdong Provincial Press and Publication Bureau and the Guangdong Provincial Games Association to provide more copyright protection services.
It also provided online and offline quality copyright protection services for exhibitors at the Canton Fair to strengthen copyright protection.
