The new urban industrial projects in Haizhu district are expected to bring it over 500 million yuan ($71 million) of new industrial output value, which will become the driving force behind the positive growth of the manufacturing industry in the district.

In the first quarter of this year, the turnover of the high-end manufacturing industry in Haizhu accounted for 15.8 percent of all Grade A office space in Guangzhou, and the demand expanded by 3.7 percentage points from the previous quarter.

At the end of 2021, the tax revenue of Haizhu district reached over 100 million yuan, of which the most prominent contribution was the digital economy industry, which accounted for 42 percent of the total. In the first half of the year, industrial investment in Haizhu district grew by 25.2 percent, and the growth rate was higher than the city level for the first time in the past two years.

According to the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25), Haizhu will regard urban industry as one of its six pillar industries. In five years, Haizhu will strive to add 10 new urban industrial parks, release more than one million square meters of high-quality carriers, and reach more than 100 billion yuan in urban industry.

Haizhu district emphasizes the exploration of urban industry. In the next five years, it will strive to add 10 new urban industrial parks, introduce implementation measures to promote high-quality development of urban industry, and subsidize industrial housing up to 15 million yuan for three years.
